This week, we’ve got one of the most prominent and longest-running Guntubers on the show.
InRangeTV’s Karl Kasarda joins the podcast to discuss his view of the Second Amendment and the backlash his advocacy has generates from other sections of the gun owning community. He argues gun rights belong to everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. Not everyone agrees with that list.
Kasarda said those pushing for a more limited view of who the Second Amendment protects are doing a disservice to the gun-rights cause. Some, he said, are downright hateful and harassing. But he argued even those that aren’t are shrinking the number of people who could be on their side.
He also gives some insight into what it’s like to run a popular gun channel on YouTube and why he’s proactively demonitized his videos to minimize how much power the platform has over his ability to make videos.

Plus, Contributing writer Jake Fogleman and I discuss new claims from the gun industry about the ATF continuing to enforce its controversial “zero tolerance” policy despite Trump’s promises to reverse it. We talk about Trump’s lack of gun policy action so far and why some gun-rights groups are starting to speak out. We also cover a significant new ruling out of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals where a three judge panel just struck down the federal handgun sales ban for young adults.

Clearly the trend with the gun grabbers is focusing on the State level rather than the Federal level. The main emphasis will rest with Trump’s appointment of Federal Court Judges who are pro 2A.
I agree with what you are reporting about the lack of short term items that the Trump has not addressed. Long term emphasis, to me, seems to be far more important.
Yes, judicial appointments were Trump’s most substantial pro-gun accomplishments from his first term. They are likely to be his most substantial this time around, too.
I have conflicted reactions to this interview, which I think shows it was worth listening to. I too believe we should emphasize that gun rights are for every (sane, non-violent-criminal, adult) person, even those we dislike or disagree with. However I don’t buy the “trans rights are under attack” line as the “attack” seems to be about keeping men out of women’s sports/lockers rooms/prisons and preventing sex changes for minors, and it’s bizarre how those things got normalized so quickly and widely. I agree that there is nastiness & excessive tribalism on ARFCOM that is morally wrong & counterproductive, and the code of conduct should be applied more consistently, but placing huge emphasis on it and applying collective guilt is doing the anti-gun side’s work for them, and the Twitter Files show how “moderation” of online “hate speech” tends to work in practice. And while the GOP has indeed been disappointing on guns at the federal level, as others have mentioned the state level contrast between red and blue states could scarcely be more stark. Even in a purplish state like VA, with the smallest possible legislative majority the Dems are pushing to instantly turn it from a mainstream state to one of the strictest.
